Participants of the EU-China NGO Twinning Program, Workshop 2018

Every year, we organize two capacity building and reflection workshops as part of the EU-China NGO Twinning Program. The Twinning Program is an exchange program for the staff of European and Chinese NGOs not only for job shadowing and experience sharing among each other, but also with the public, local NGOs and also political stakeholders.

We cordially invite all interested parties to join the open day event on the 18th October.

The theme of this year’s conference day centers around climate change and its implications. Civil society needs to be involved not only in all areas from climate change and urbanization to trade agreements and sustainable livelihood. Civil society also needs to cooperate internationally in order to meet these global challenges. In light of this, we ask: How do civil society organizations work on social and environmental issues in Europe? How can their work be compared to working in China’s more restricted civil society landscape? What are the biggest obstacles to EU-China civil society cooperation? How do we fight climate change around the globe?

Our event shall offer you new and unique insights into the social implications of climate change and global value chains, and international civil society cooperation. There will be much room for your questions to our participants from various European countries and different Chinese provinces.

The participants of the EU-China NGO Twinning Program are experts in their respective fields and have been working in NGOs for several years. Our civil society talk will demonstrate the cooperative potential within the EU-China civil society landscape.
